
Born in 1975. In 1999 he graduated in church musicology at the Academy of Catholic Theology (now UKSW) in Warsaw. In 1996, he took part in a course of Gregorian chant under the direction of M. Pérès in Royaumont. In 2006 he gained a doctorate. Since 2007, he has been cooperating with the PAN (Polish Academy of Sciences) Institute of Art – preparing computer indexes of the most important medieval Polish manuscripts, and in 2011 he created a portal dedicated to them – www.cantus.edu.pl – related to the international project CANTUS Database. The author of pioneering articles about the tradition of Gregorian chant on Polish territories in the 19th century.
Since 2002, the organist in the Basilica of St. John the Baptist in Brochów (place of the baptism of F. Chopin), where he founded Bractwo Śpiewacze (the Brotherhood of Singers). In 2010, at the request of the ‘Wszystkie mazurki świata’ (‘All mazurkas of the world’) Festival, he prepared the ‘Missa Polonica AD 1810’ project – a reconstruction of a solemn parish Mass from the time of F. Chopin’s youth. In 2013, at the request of the ‘Galicja’ Festival, he prepared a reconstruction of a solemn Mass from the manuscripts of the Bernardine monastery in Leżajsk (18th century).
He cooperates with Kapela Brodów. In 2014, he appeared in Witek Broda’s film Puste noce (‘Empty Nights’) dedicated to Mazovian burial customs.
In 2013, he founded the JERYCHO vocal ensemble. In 2015, he took part in a course at Royaumont led by Björn Schmelzer and Adrian Sirbu dedicated to Ars Subtilio.
