Jean-Étienne Langianni

A Corsican, singer, composer, autodidact. He has been a regular member of Tavagna (since 1981), Ensemble Organum (since 1993) and Seraphica, which he founded in 2007. He performs at the most famous festivals in the world and has recorded over 30 albums. In addition to concerts of traditional music and songs, elaborations of repertoire of early and contemporaty music, his artistic activity has also led him to write polyphonic works: ‘Stella Matutina’ (a short polyphonic mass and songs in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary) and ‘Messa per i tempi novi’ (created in Paris, performed by Tavagna). Since 2001, returning to his original love of singing with the guitar, he has been giving recitals in tribute to Georges Brassens. He is also an excellent teacher. He regularly conducts workshops of Corsican singing and polyphony, both in France and abroad, especially with the associations: Seraphica and CIRMA (Center Itinérant de Recherches sur les Musiques Anciennes, Wandering Center for Research on Early Music), and Tavagna-club or Village Harmony (USA). In his artistic work, he upholds and promotes the traditions of Corsica, perpetuating the so-called Corsican style.
